Arizona State Treasurer Dean Martin in an interview on Sunday with Channel 12 News confirmed what our lobbyist Brian Livingston has indicated for weeks - Privatization of State Prisons is not a viable option. The sale and lease back of State Buildings to include prisons is the option being pursued to assist in resolving the State budget shortfall..
Other labor organizations have spent thousands of their member's money on radio ads and engaging in rallies and interviews in the weeks since ACA had announced to their members that privatization was no longer on the table.
We are thankful that Mr. Livingston along with Williams & Associates and Dr Levi Bolton have been in daily contact with the members of the Arizona State Legislature, thereby allowing the ACA to stay well informed of the current direction being pursued in resolving the budget crisis.
